What will a new hire cost in wages and federal employer taxes? How does a nondiscretionary bonus change overtime? Worklio HCM, our payroll and HR platform for businesses that run their own payroll, now offers free payroll calculators to help you work through questions like these.
Put Your Numbers to Work
Each calculator works through one rule with your own numbers.
Employee cost for one year: wages plus federal employer taxes
Employee vs. 1099 contractor costs: a cost comparison, not a classification decision
Turnover rate using BLS definitions, and PTO accrual over a policy year
Social Security and Medicare on one paycheck, using year-to-date wages
The overtime regular rate when pay includes a nondiscretionary bonus
The federal garnishment limit for one week and one ordinary creditor order
Federal bonus withholding and a federal-only gross-up for a target net bonus
FUTA with the credit lost, and the penalty for a late federal tax deposit
ACA affordability and prevailing wage for a Davis-Bacon workweek with fringe benefits
See What Supports Each Result
The calculators are built from primary sources: the IRS, the Department of Labor, the Social Security Administration, the BLS, and federal regulations. Each result names its rule or source, such as 26 U.S.C. §6656 for a late deposit. Where a rate or limit changes every year, the calculators use the figure in force for 2026, including the $184,500 Social Security wage base.
Payroll Is Our Business
Worklio HCM also runs payroll for customers: we calculate, deposit, and file payroll taxes in every state and locality. The Worklio platform has paid more than $35 billion in payroll and taxes since 2018.
